Newspaper Clippings Collection

Between 1930 and 1999, the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut (IAI) collected over 350,000 newspaper clippings from German and European press publications with articles on Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal. The articles are organized according to thematic criteria within a system of country groups and chronologically within each corresponding thematic group.

Review archive António Lobo Antunes

The review archive on Portuguese writer António Lobo Antunes includes press coverage of his work in German-language media and ranges from detailed reviews and transcripts of public broadcasts to short reports and book tips. The archive, consisting of 10 folders, was donated to the IAI by Luchterhand Literaturverlag in 2023.

Review archive Pablo Neruda

Pablo Neruda (1904–1973) was a Chilean poet and writer. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1971 for his work. Neruda supported Salvador Allende in his presidential election campaign in 1970. In 2012, Luchterhand Literaturverlag donated six file folders to the IAI containing reviews of translations of Neruda's works into German and supplementary materials on radio and television broadcasts about Neruda's work. The materials cover the years 1968 to 2009.

Newspaper clippings collections of the Deutsche Institut für Zeitgeschichte and the Institut für Internationale Politik und Wirtschaft

The German Institute of Contemporary History (Deutsche Institut für Zeitgeschichte, DIZ) and the Institute for International Politics and Economics (Institut für Internationale Politik und Wirtschaft, IPW) of the former GDR (German Democratic Republic) collected articles from the European press on Latin America and the Caribbean between 1966 and 1990. The thematic focus is on politics and economics; the regional focus is on Chile, Cuba and Nicaragua. The collection comprises around 76,250 newspaper cuttings.
