Film Collection

The Film Collection consists of approx. 7.420 videos and DVDs. In addition, there are around 1.000 television recordings of documentaries about Latin America and Spain (from 1980-1992), as well as feature films from Latin America, Spain and Portugal (mostly in the original language).

Since 2000, the focus of acquisitions has been on documentaries, feature films, literary adaptations and interviews. Since 2006, the Förderkreis des Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut e.V. has supported the collection through the targeted acquisition of important films from Latin America.

The television recordings are indexed alphabetically and factually by person, author and subject in a card catalog (located in the audio library room). New acquisitions from 1999 onward are listed in the online catalog and can be searched using the keyword "Bildtonträger".
