For the young guests, the colleagues put together a selection of materials with a special focus on the field of interest of future Romance scholars. These included language atlases and language maps of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, which provided an insight into the linguistic diversity of the region. Then it was on to the audio library, where popular music, film classics and other audio material on a range of sound carriers awaited the students. In the deposit, rare and extraordinary books could also be discovered – including facsimile editions of Spanish classics from the Siglo de Oro, artists' books from Cuba, small-format books, comics and fanzines from the IAI's extensive collection. The tour concluded with a visit to the papers and manuscripts deposit, where examples of the legacy of the renowned literary translator Curt Meyer-Clason were shown.
We wish the students success in their studies and look forward to welcoming new, interested users!
