Notes on Events Proposals

The Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut organizes a wide variety of scientific and cultural events. If you would like to propose an event with the IAI, please follow the instructions and use the event proposal form.

The Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut organizes a wide variety of scientific and cultural events, such as:

  • Lectures
  • Round tables / discussions
  • Conferences
  • Readings
  • Film screenings
  • Concerts
  • Exhibitions related to our collections

In the case of external event proposals, events can be considered if they have a clearly recognizable regional and content-related connection to the profile of the IAI and meet corresponding quality criteria. Another decisive factor is their feasibility, both in terms of the financial basis of the project and the IAI's infrastructural, personnel and technical capabilities. Furthermore, it is important to take into account the necessary lead time for planning, implementing and promoting the event .

For capacity reasons, we can only organize a limited number of events per quarter . In the interests of a balanced event design, the number of program slots available for each genre is also limited. Unfortunately, no further events can be accepted beyond this quota. If you would like to suggest an event, please use the form provided.

The acceptance of incoming event proposals will be decided in a regular program meeting on the basis of the submitted, preferably meaningful illustrative material. As the IAI receives a large number of requests, it is advisable to give at least six months' notice.

The following types of events are not possible at the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut:

  • no charity, promotional or tourist events
  • no events on national holidays
  • no book or dissertation presentations
  • no pure art or handicraft exhibitions due to the lack of suitable professional exhibition space
  • no theater or dance events, as our premises are not suitable for this
