Prien, Hans-Jürgen (1935-2022)

The German theologian and historian Hans-Jürgen Prien taught church and dogmatic history at various ecclesiastical universities in Latin America. In 1986, he became professor of church history at the University of Marburg, and from 2000 onwards he held a chair in Iberian and Latin American history at the University of Cologne. His research focused on church history, missiology, and Protestantism in Latin America.
