Georg Hantke worked for the Berlin Transport Company (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe, BVG). In 1973 he traveled to Lima (Peru) on behalf of the company Deutsche Eisenbahn Consulting to hold talks on plans to build an underground network in Lima.
