Garzón Valdés, Ernesto (1927-2023)
Ernesto Garzón Valdés was an Argentine-German philosopher of law, political scientist, and diplomat. He studied law, philosophy, political science, and sociology in Córdoba (Argentina), Madrid, Munich, Bonn, and Cologne. Until 1974, he was a professor of philosophy of law at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina, and also worked as a diplomat. Due to political persecution, he lost his positions and lived in exile in the Federal Republic of Germany, where he taught at several universities. From 1981 onwards, he was a professor of political science at Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.
