A photo album (“Fröhliche Weinachten und frohes Neujahr. Oscar Mengen und Familie. Buenos Aires 1895” ) documenting the professional and family life of the Mengen family in Buenos Aires. In addition to portraits of family and friends, the album features interior and exterior views of the family home in Villa Catalina (now the Villa Urquiza neighborhood of Buenos Aires) as well as images of the family-owned printing shop with paper rolls and printing presses.

Material: 30 black-and-white photographs (26 x 16 cm) mounted in an album.

Provenance: Purchased in 2021.
