How do I borrow materials?
You can enter your orders into the online catalog in our reading room or at www.iaicat.de . The materials will be available at the service counter in about thirty minutes. If you place your order before 5 p.m. weekdays or 12 noon Saturday, you can pick up your books the same day. Otherwise they will be ready for you the next working day from 9 a.m. on. Books from the external storage facility Friedrichshagen, old books and special materials will usually be provided the next workday.
For the lending of media at home our service counter is open for you from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Later on you can continue to work with your materials in the Reading Room or borrow materials you have already ordered to the Reading Room.
How long can I borrow library materials?
Books published 1945 or later may be borrowed for four weeks. You may renew your loans two times, either online or by fax.
The loan period for videos and DVDs is two weeks.
Older books, microforms, large formats and periodicals may only be used in the reading room.
