Digital Library
Since 2011, the Ibero-American Institute (IAI) is building a digital library and therefore progressively is digitalizing its library holdings in order to make them accessible in a more simple way and independent of time and place.
The IAI digitalization process primarily is focusing on the holdings only available at the IAI. Furthermore, the frequently used works and materials whose deterioration makes it impossible for the originals to be used in the future are also digitalized.
The digitalization at the IAI is being financed only to a small extent with own funds. Most of it is implemented with external funding.
